Consequently, great airports have emerged as important landmarks, in addition to bus terminals, train stations,

you might be surprised to find out that there is much more than that at an airport.

It is such an interesting place that some movies have been made entirely based on life inside an airport.

Just as Icarus, (a character in Greek mythology), attempted to fly with his wings of feathers and wax,

Managing an aircraft's takeoffs and landings is the core function of an airport and it requires a runway,

Runways are also lined with guiding lights.

The guiding lights are tied into special computers in the control tower.
